Reduce Audio Size

Drastically shrink audio file size by lowering bitrate, sample rate, or converting to mono

Drag & drop an audio file or click to browse

How to reduce audio size:

  1. Select an audio file (MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A, FLAC, etc.)
  2. Adjust reduction settings in the panel on the right:
    • Bitrate – lower = much smaller file, lower quality (32–96 kbps for speech, 64–128 for music)
    • Sample rate – 22050 Hz or 16000 Hz saves space
    • Channel mode – Mono reduces size by ~50%
  3. Click "Reduce Size & Export" – the file will be re‑encoded to MP3 with your settings
  4. Download the smaller MP3 and see how much space you saved

All processing happens in your browser using LameJS – files never leave your device.
